One Valentine’s day, at Oklahoma Christian University in Oklahoma City, Lyndsey was eating alone in the Cafeteria when Charles entered, also alone, so he came over and sat next to her and started talking. And that was only the beginning.

Not too long after that, Charles needed an early morning ride to the hospital and could not find help, so, (it must have been an inspiration) he called Lyndsey, who agreed to transport him, even though she didn’t know him well…. The wedding date is set for July 19, 2003.

It is interesting to note that their ideal date does not include hospital rides or cafeteria lunches, but rather a picnic in the park or a drive-in movie. Lyndsey and Charles also agree that a relaxed evening includes coming home from work, changing clothes and pulling on sweats, renting movies and eating junk food.

When Charles wants to have fun he plays or watches soccer and, of course, hangs out with Lyndsey. For fun, Lyndsey likes to eat and socialize with friends and family.

Food that all-important topic. When needing a quick bite, Lyndsey will drive into a Sonic or can hear the St. Louis Bread Company call to her. When Charles answers the question, "What is your favorite food" he answers, "Mom’s Spanish Rice, Arroz con gandule." For a quick bite he heads for Taco Bueno. He will take Lyndsey to his favorite restaurant, The Olive Garden, for her favorite food, Italian. If offering them beverages, offer Lyndsey a Caffeine Free Pepsi and Charles Raspberry Tea, and bring a smile to their faces.

Now that we have talked about dinner, let’s talk movies. Lyndsey’s favorite movie last year was My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Her favorite movie of all time is Miss Congeniality and the most romantic movie she has seen is My Best Friends Wedding. Charles’ favorite movie from last year was Fast and the Furious. His favorite movie of all time is Hackers. For a romantic movie he offers Robinhood: Prince of Thieves. When they don’t go to or rent movies, Lindsey will watch Gilmore Girls on TV. Charles tunes into Sports Center.

Lyndsey favors tulips, Friday, the color blue and cheesecake. Charles enjoys roses, Saturday, the color blue and Tiramisu. Lyndsey enjoys sentimental gifts and Charles lights up when he receives spontaneous gifts.

For romantic songs the bride’s favorite is Amazed by Lonestar and the groom’s is Everything I do, I do it For You by Bryan Adams. And the most romantic moment they shared was, "Lyndsey taking care of me when I was recovering from surgery (while we were dating) and I was singing love songs to her on the way home."

Love is? "Chocolate" answers Lyndsey. "Soccer" replies Charles.
